Amethyst was part of a litter of puppies born on the mean streets of Texas. Along with her momma, she and her siblings were taken in by SSR to give her a shot at a great life, and she’s ready to make the most of it. Amethyst is full of life! She’s a happy little girl with tons of energy, in other words, a fairly typical puppy. She likes toys, playing in the yard with her sibling Beryl, chewing on the occasional shoe, belly rubs, and pets. Lots and lots of pets. Amethyst currently weighs about 20 lbs., but the size of her feet suggest she will be a good sized dog. She is crate trained (complains a bit when she first goes in and then settles), and is working on house training (maybe 90% of the way there). She does well with the resident older female dog, and has been fine around the resident kitty after a couple whacks across the snout from the kitty to show some respect. She shows her puppy exuberance by jumping up, so her interactions with small children should be closely supervised. She knows limited commands but is treat motivated and very, very smart. As with all puppies, training will be a must for this little girl.
