SSR Avery was rescued from an rural shelter in Texas. She was scheduled to be euthanized right before SSR saved her and transported her to Virginia. Shortly after arriving, some volunteers noticed that she was getting large in the belly. After a quick visit to the vet, it was confirmed that she was pregnant. Legolas is one of her 10 puppies that were born on May 12th, 2023. The ten puppies are: Lilly, Gerald, Arwen, Hermy, Sophie, Legolas, Dyson, Dobby, Basil, and Darbie. All the puppies have found their forever homes except Legolas. She is a sweet girl who is a little shy and timid when you first meet her but she warms up quickly. She loves belly rubs and to have her ears rubbed. We are working with her to help her gain her confidence and learn she doesn't need her litter mates and her momma to protect her. She is good with dogs and cats and she loves kids. She would make any family happy and has so much love to give them.
