Mina and baby Mira were found as strays in Texas. When the person who found them took them to the shelter, they wanted to immediately euthanize mom because she had mange. A friend contacted SSR and we said we would take them. They arrived in Virginia at the end of April and transferred to their foster in Delaware. Baby Mira is doing well at her foster home, working on crate and potty-training, and learning the rules of living in a home. She just celebrated one week of no accidents in the house! Mira is very food motivated, eager to please, and very intelligent; she will be a dream to train! She's already learned "sit" and "down." She has typical puppy energy and demeanor, but she can make it through the night (10pm-6am), so no sacrificing sleep! She loves the kiddie pool and her Foster Mom is sure she would win the cannonball competition! She steals food, treats, and bones from Momma Mina, so she's currently fed separately in her crate and out-of-site. She has growled at momma when she found a treasure in the yard, so it would be best to continue feeding separately. She puts everything in her mouth so you have to be vigilant. She chases birds and squirrels in the yard and often has puppy zoomies, so a fence would be beneficial. She needs some work on her leash walking. Her mange is healed and her fur is so soft; you can't tell she ever had it!
