Introducing Nike (aka Baby Shelly). This girl with her mother had a very questionable history, where it's reported they once teamed up and killed a male GSD they shared a pen with. They spent their entire life living in a dilapidated pen with 6 other GSDs and little food. I suspect the mama felt her baby was threatened and they turned on the male... for whatever reason, it's heartbreaking to even think about. Overall, she is not overtly dog aggressive and recently (03/15/2022) has begun playing with the neighbor's dogs and brother-in-law dog. As of November 8th she has been with a foster and is very good with no restroom breaks in the house and are acclimating well with all the noises that come with being inside; (microwaves, tv’s, vacuums, and so on). She is still unsure and weary of new people, but after some adjustment time she warms up to them. She loves her kennel and uses it as her decompression/safety zone. She is very loving and will want to come check in and sleep by you during the night. She has shown no food aggression and when with her mother used to eat from the same bowl and demonstrate the same towards humans while eating. Hands petting, touching, and holding their bowls causes no aggression from them. Nike is very good on the leash and wants to listen and please. When given reassurance passing other dogs is no problem and even coming up to her to say hello has been positive. She has recently been hiking, nature walks, and big gatherings at outdoor breweries that she did very well at. She loves going out in nature and tagging along with the car rides. Overall Nike is a loving dog, a gentle shower of affection with snout touches while being pet on the couch. She showed good potential with young children. Four total 5,5,7,9 came over to pet her during our walk. Although no tail wag, she turned her butt to them and had no aggression as they pet her. A person who is empathetic, calm, and a good leader will do best with Nike. Understanding her anxiety and working through new things will end up with a really sweet and loving dog who is happy to hangout all day inside or go and tag along on adventures.
