Meet Luz, a wonderful dog and a real beauty! Luz’s former life consisted of being a puppy factory for a backyard breeder in Texas. She and her pen mates lived all their lives in a dirty outdoor pen, and don’t seem to have had much interaction with people. Much to SSR’s surprise, the vet discovered she was pregnant on her arrival to Virginia. Luz has since given birth to five beautiful puppies, and is being the very best mother to them. Aside from being stunningly pretty, Luz is a very sweet, shy girl. She is very affectionate and loves getting all the pets in her foster home. As she has grown more comfortable, her goofy side is starting to come out a bit. She likes to take the end of the leash in her mouth and walk herself around the yard! Her leash manners could use some improvement and we’re working on that. She is house trained and cat friendly! Luz’s days of being used as a breeding dog are behind her now. Once the puppies are weaned, she will be spayed and then ready to find her forever home Luz is Heartworm positive which will be treated by SSR via the slow kill method. Luz arrived to the Virginia area on September 18th, and is being fostered in North Carolina. Stay tuned for further updates.
