Royse was rescued from a kill shelter in Texas. Just in time too, because a few days later she gave birth to 8 puppies. Sadly, one perished, but her other seven are doing well. All of her puppies are weaned and have been adopted (as well as baby daddy Merlin) so it’s time for Mama to get adopted. She arrived to the Virginia area on June 12th. Royse is a pretty timid girl but has really come out of her shell recently. She’s a goofy girl who just needs some time to trust and build confidence. She’s gotten along really well with the resident dog and is doing well with the cat although she’s very interested in the cat and would do best with a dog savvy cat. She’s quiet in her crate and is housebroken. Sometimes when something scares her she’ll give out a bark or two but is easily corrected. We’re working on confidence building to help her learn that there’s no need to be afraid of everything and will need an adopter willing to continue this.
