From her TX foster: Jackie is a sweet tempered 2yo (fair guess) momma of 4 pups. At first she was very skittish and shy, more with men than women. She is comforted by the presence of her kennel and prefers to sleep there. We believe the small space gives her a sense of security. She is afraid of indoors and does not like being inside for long. She gets very nervous and paces, even when inside with her pups. She may have never had the opportunity to live indoors before. It is unknown if she is house trained as she is never indoors long enough to find out.
She has been treated for the worms, has gotten her rabies shot, and is on heartworm treatment. She did test positive for heartworms according to the shelter she was picked up from. Other than those issues she is in good health.
She is a good watchdog with a very distinctive bark, and overall a very good dog. She is not leash trained at all and just sits there and looks at you when you try. We are working with her on leash training.
Jackie found herself and her four puppies, Spanky, Rascal, Darla, and Daisy, in a high kill shelter in Texas. All were rescued by SSR and will make their way to the Virginia area around May.
