Until recently when her elderly owner passed, sweet Susie lived on a farm with as many as 20 cats and other dogs. She had mange but was treated and recovering. She arrived in Virginia on March 22nd. Susie is very sweet. She was a little nervous when we first got to Virginia, but she is warming up to us. She does well in the car, she is potty/crate trained and loves to explore. The resident GSD is an Alpha male and wants so badly to play with her. She's still a little timid, but she's definitely becoming more playful. She loves to lay on the couch and snuggle. She does fine on walks. She does not pull and is not vocal, but she needs some coaching on staying the coarse. We worked on that this week and she's already improving. The neighborhood kids came over to play with her and she was very sweet to them. She doesn't know any commands and has no manners. She is not treat driven, but I've been using them for entering the crate and helping her learn basic commands, but its a work in progress. Her hair is bare in a lot of spots and she has sores on her feet and legs. I am hopeful those will grow out and heal with time. We are still learning about her personality, but one thing is for sure, she is sweet and loves people.
