Violet is a black german shepherd puppy who is estimated to be around 6-8 months. She was rescued from a kill shelter in Texas along with her sister. She arrived to her Northern Virginia foster on March 3 and is ready for adoption, pending her spay surgery.

Violet is a very sweet and loving dog who actively seeks out affection. She is very active and fearless. She has already given her foster family a few small scares, she is so fearless. She is very food motivated. She is housebroken, crate trained and is learning how to be a good dog. She has learned how to sit, and does so most of the time. She enjoys being near you and having you in her sight. If she can see you but not be where you are, she will serenade you until you pay attention to her. She does do fine in her crate alone, and overnight. She also rides well in the car.

She does not resource guard or have issues with food. She allows handling all over and lets you cut her nails, clean her ears and teeth. She does well in the bath tub with a little encouragement.

She does have a very high prey drive and does not like cats, small dogs or other small animals. She is fearless and needs someone to teach her structure and discipline.

She would do well with another, active dog who is her size or bigger. She responds well to the correction of another dog.
