Learn more about the German Shepherd Dog.
Petunia is a black and tan german shepherd was rescued from a kill shelter in Texas along with her sister. She is estimated to be around 6-8 months old. She arrived to her Northern Virginia foster on March 3 and is ready for adoption, pending her spay surgery. Petunia is a very sweet and loving dog who actively seeks out affection. She is very food motivated. She is mostly housebroken, crate trained and is learning how to be a good dog. She has had a few accidents overnight in the crate. She jumps a lot to seek affection and is learning to sit next to you when she wants affection. She enjoys being near you and likes to cuddle. She really enjoys belly rubs. She does do fine in her crate alone, and overnight. She also rides well in the car. She does not resource guard or have issues with food. She allows handling all over and lets you cut her nails, clean her ears and teeth. She does well in the bath tub with a little encouragement. She would do well with another dog or as an only pet. She responds well to the correction of another dog. If Petunia goes to a home with small children, she will knock them over in the beginning. She will not hurt them, she just wants to give them a hug, More about Petunia 1222Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids, Good with Adults, Somewhat vocal, Does Good in the Car, Cratetrained, Likes to play with toys, Playful, Affectionate, Eager To Please, Intelligent, Gentle Petunia 1222's sister, Violet 1223 (adopted) can also be seen on our website.
