Abbey/Duchess 0343

When we adopted Abbey in February, we were all a little nervous about how she'd interact with my 14 year old cat, Alistair, as we'd had trouble integrating him and our previous dog. With SSR's help, we cat tested her as best as we could before we brought her home to Pittsburgh. As you can see from this picture, we had nothing to worry about. They're two peas in a pod

We had also been told that she may be dog aggressive, so we enrolled her in a Behavior Buddies class through our local Camp Bow Wow to help her get socialized. We've not seen any instances of aggression towards other dogs, both in class and on walks. She's interested in the other dogs in class, but totally ignores other dogs on walks. She has too much to sniff! We've also tried taking her to the dog park and she had so much fun playing chase with the other pups. She also had a blast with her best friends, Jaws and Drax, who are our friends' dogs that she got to spend the weekend with while we were out of town recently.

It was always very important for us to get a dog through rescue, and we could not possibly love Abbey more. She's an incredible dog and we're so thankful to SSR for making it possible for us to find her.
