Talk about a flexible pup. In her first weekend with us, Oriole (SSR 3086) traveled all the way from Texas to boarding, went to Maryland for the adoption event, and is now in her new foster home in Virginia. Despite this significant transition, Oriole is doing so well! Oriole is a beautiful German Shepherd English Sheepdog mix that is calm, sweet, and gentle. It is clear that she enjoys meeting other dogs and loves her daily walks with the resident dog. Oriole has been observed to have good behavior when passing other dogs and is continuing to work on leash walking. We can tell that she is a quick learner and wants to please. Oriole is practicing her basic commands and settling into her daily routine. This dog is ALL about showing love. Oriole craves attention and wants nothing more than to snuggle up next to you for pets. Oriole is the perfect companion for anyone who works from home. She will sit quietly by your side as you work! On a break, she will be excited for as much playtime as you are able to do with her. In general, Oriole is eager to meet people and has done great when being introduced to young kids. Let’s talk about Oriole’s eating habits: she has not been shy during mealtime! Right away, Oriole took to eating her kibbles in her new foster home. She is highly motivated by food. Additionally, Oriole is crate trained and is sleeping through the night successfully in her crate. Oriole is a curious gal and is open to trying different things, including exploring her surroundings, adding to her toy collection, and lounging on a couch or the new dog bed in her foster home.
Oriole came into SSR’s care from a shelter in Texas. Not much is known about Oriole’s history prior to being rescued. We are so glad that Oriole is with SSR now and are excited for her to find her forever home! Just imagine this sweet dog with her long tail wagging and waiting to greet you.
