Maya was rescued from an abuse/neglect situation in the Greater Houston area. Known to frequently escape and roam the neighborhood, the community jumped into action when they witnessed Maya screaming and yelping as her "owner" was dragging her home by the leg and beating her with a large stick. She is now safe with a TX foster. Maya is a beautiful adolescent German Shepherd who is about 10 months old. Her current foster reports that Maya loves the outdoors, and is great with other dogs. She is house broken, crate-trained and heart worm negative. Maya still needs to be spayed. She can be submissive and nervous at times, but she is very smart and listens well.
