Meet Onyx! He was dumped in a commercial area during the TX arctic blast in January 2024. He was cowering in the cold and fearful. After spending some time in boarding, he left TX and is being fostered in Richmond, VA. Onyx is so much closer to his forever home! This boy is a huge cuddle bug and is sweet as they come. Onyx is getting used to being in a home and noises are sometimes scary. He is very interested in toys and balls but is not quite sure how to play with them yet. Onyx is a perfect boy in his crate (he might whine for a minute if he hears you moving around) otherwise he sleeps all night with no accidents! He is learning to walk on a leash and needs a confident adopter to help him feel comfortable. Onyx loves being brushed and did great when he went to the groomer. He is not food or toy aggressive, he's good with other dogs and is indifferent to cats. Onyx is up to date on his vaccinations. He is heartworm positive. The cost to treat his heartworm is covered by SSR. This lab-mix boy would be an amazing addition to any family! Come adopt Onyx before someone else does!
