Learn more about the German Shepherd Dog.
Vince a handsome, regal 5-year-old shepherd. He has had a rough TX life up to this point. Vince was found after being hit by a car and brought to a shelter. He was scheduled for euthanasia when SSR pulled him and transferred him to medical boarding. Vince was able to get out of TX and is now being fostered in MD. He has had FHO (Femoral Head Ostectomy) surgery on his left leg. FHO surgery is done to restore pain-free mobility to a diseased or damaged hip. He will be evaluated to determine the best course of action for his right leg. Vince is a sweet dog, not a mean bone in his body. He settles great in his crate and takes his meds without a problem. Vince truly enjoys being with people. He gets along with other dogs and cats. For now, he needs a home with minimal stairs (4 at most) due to injuries and healing in his hind quarters. Vince will be ready for adoption after his medical issues have been resolved. We will definitely keep you updated on his progress! If you are an approved adopter and are interested in this dog, please let your case worker know. If you are not yet an approved adopter but are interested, please complete an adoption application!
