Pepper is a bright, playful puppy who joins her sibling Orion in the SSR community. Pepper's mom gave birth to them after wandering onto a property in the RGV, TX. Pepper was picked up as a stray around 9 weeks of age and surrendered to a shelter before being saved by SSR. Pepper may have started her life without a roof over her head, but she has certainly learned to appreciate one now! She isn't much for the outside these days, wanting to quickly go back inside after going potty. That doesn't mean she isn't playful, just that she prefers playing inside where there's air conditioning. Pepper is learning how to play ball and also enjoys a good game of tug of war. She loves peanut butter, especially when smeared on a favorite chew toy. She also likes plush toys but don't expect them to last too long! Even though she's young, Pepper has taken to her crate very well and has had no potty accidents inside. Pepper's puppy energy means she currently has little patience for being held or cuddled, but she still wants to stay close to her pack - often curling up at your feet while you sit. She likes laying under the couch or recliner too. Pepper is going to be a very big girl so she won't fit under there much longer! Pepper is currently being fostered in Texas and will travel to VA once she receives all her vaccinations. She looks forward to finding her forever home and having a family of her own.
