Mellie came into SSR by a complete accident, but what a lovely accident it was! SSR has tagged a dog that was scheduled to be euthanized at a Texas shelter that day. We sent a local volunteer to go pick him up and take him to boarding. When they arrived, they realized that “he” was really a “she” and the shelter had given us the wrong dog! We said “Alright Mellie, welcome to SSR!” and sent the volunteer back to also get the other dog, Lionel, who we were originally saving.
