Knox came to SSR when his owner's neighbor express concerned about the dog limping and asked if she could take the dog to the vet. The owner said that he closed to crate door on his leg one day, but that she could take the dog to the vet if she wanted. Once at the vet, the X-ray showed that Knox's femur had snapped completed in half; an impossible injury to be caused by a crate door. It was clear that Knox had been abused. It had been so long since Knox's leg broke that the vet could not repair the fracture and his back leg needed to be amputated. Knox is young and despite all of the pain that he's suffered, he is still a very happy and energetic boy that loves playing with his toys.
