Learn more about the Belgian Shepherd Malinois.
Sweet Moka was found laying on the side of the road on a hot summer day in rural Texas. According to locals, she was taken out of a car wearing a service dog vest (which was probably fake) the vest was removed, and she was left sitting in the middle of the road. One of SSR’s Texas volunteers saw a post about her in a Facebook group and immediately went to locate and rescue her. Moka is a beautiful, young, intelligent Belgian Malinois about 16 months old. She has sustained an injury to her left hip that needs surgery. While Moka waits for surgery, she still runs and plays with no problem. Let it be known, her personality is all Mal! She can be mouthy and requires a lot of exercise and structure. Once healed, she will make a great running companion for somebody. Moka is gentle and sweet with humans. She gets along well with other dogs but she does try to be the alpha and help manage the 7 other dogs she lives with. Moka's forever home would be one without cats since she currently is stalking the local feral cats. A home with older kids would be perfect because of her mouthiness . And... she absolutely loves her toys! Moka eats with the other dogs in her foster home but she does not allow them too close to her food while she is eating. She has not been crate trained but does well when left alone in the home. When she is outside, that is another story... don't leave your plants where she can get to them! Moka has been spayed, she is up-to-date on her vaccinations and is heart worm negative. Moka will travel to VA. Once healed from her surgery she will be ready to be with her forever family!
