Our sweet girl Lyla! Lyla holds a special place in the heart of SSR as she was hand-rescued by the founder of the rescue. She was found running along a busy street in Houston, TX with another dog in January 2023 and was at high-risk of being hit by a car. With the coaxing of some treats and affection, Lyla was put in the back of a rental car and she's been an SSR girl ever since! Lyla arrived to Virginia on February 10th, 2023, and has been living in a boarding facility since then as no fosters have been available to take her in. She would be the happiest girl in the world with just someone to rub her belly every day and take her out to enjoy the sunshine. She is very quick to make friends and will quickly be demanding that you love on her. Every time she's let out into the yard to play, she has the cutest zoomies. She can get scared in hectic environments, so she would do best in a home with older kids that understand a dog's boundaries or a home with no kids. Lyla does well around other dogs as long as they are not overly dominate towards her. She has not yet been cat tested. She has not been officially leash trained, but does walk decently on a leash. She enjoys car rides and will hop right in and await her next adventure.
