Learn more about the German Shepherd Dog.
Groot has arrived all the way from Texas. He is such a good boy! He is past the puppy energy stage, but would still like to play all day. He is on the larger size, but he does great on walks. He doesn’t pull at all and walks at a nice leisurely pace. He hasn’t displayed any prey drive around cats or other animals while on a walk. He can walk through Petco to get a bath and won’t bother anything at all. He stands nicely while getting a bath and looks handsome when cleaned up. He is housebroken and crate trained. Don’t worry though, if you don’t want him to sleep in the crate at night he’s more than willing to be your cuddle buddy in bed. He’ll even kiss you goodnight. He does well at mealtime and will stand near you while you eat, but does not jump or try to take your food. He knows how to sit for treats and loves anything meaty. He does great on long car rides. He’ll just ride in the back and sit on the seat. Sometimes he’ll look out the windows. He is doing well with his 15 pound foster brother and 45 pound foster sister. He plays gently with the little dog and a roughhouses with the medium dog who loves to give him a run for his money. He is fine with other dogs being the alpha and just enjoys being included. He would do well in a home with another dog to play with, but would be ok on his own with an owner that has time to play with him.
