Kisses arrived early December to her foster home. She is a very loving and affectionate girl with a nice, moderate energy level. She does bond very quickly with dogs and humans and may be at risk for development of separation anxiety if healthy boundaries and practice with confidence building are not met. She would do best with an owner who can balance affection with boundaries and rules. An older, confident and well rounded companion dog would make a ideal housemate. Upon arrival, Kisses struggled with impulse control and would jump out of my vehicle or exit the her crate with haste. We have begun basic training with her to help address these issues and she is currently e-collar trained to recall. She is now able to enjoy long hikes or runs in the field. A home with some land where she can continue to enjoy these freedoms would be ideal. She is excelling at sit, down, and e-collar heel and we hope to begin working on her place command soon. Kisses gets along wonderfully with other dogs and is on the submissive side. She does exhibit a rough playstyle and is overly-friendly, which can be off-putting to some dogs. We are monitoring her play and teaching her how to interact more appropriately. She is very pack driven and responds well to training and guidance. Kisses has been well mannered in the home, is crate trained, and is able to settle appropriately. She has done well with all members of the family to include respectful children ages 2-16 years of age. She will truly make someone a wonderful companion!
