Learn more about the German Shepherd Dog. Molly 2576 needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping her get a new start?
Molly was rescued from a high-kill shelter in Texas, where she was hit by a car. She needed ortho surgery to amputate her right hind leg. SSR rescued Molly, and she arrived in Virginia on August 5th. We learned that Molly is a playful, 9-month-old puppy. She is the sweetest girl, and once she is comfortable around you shows her sassy playful personality. She loves to play with toys and, despite only having three legs, does not let anything slow her down. Molly loves to play with her foster siblings, so she would do great in a home with another dog for a playmate. Her Texas foster says she is great with cats, but we have not tested her in Virginia yet. She goes up and down stairs well and is quick on her feet. She knows the commands sit and place, but she is a typical puppy that needs basic obedience training. She tries to go after things she's not supposed to, like my flip-flops but is easily corrected. She will vocalize when she wants attention and is a little mouthy when she's in a playful mood. These puppy quirks can be easily managed with some training. When she is ready to settle down, she loves getting pets, giving kisses, and napping on her doggy bed. Molly is heartworm negative and was spayed on August 16th, which she is fully recovered from.
