Roger is a sweet and gentle soul. His family moved away and left him in the yard. For months he roamed searching for food, but would always go back to his yard and wait. He was limping from a leg injury and eating from food on the ground when rescuers found him. He was taken home and we were asked to help. His previous foster in Texas had five Husky dogs and Roger really enjoyed having playmates. He would do well in a home with other dogs. We don’t know about cats yet. He is good with children and likes all people. Roger is about 70 lbs. He is very low maintenance. After three months in his VA foster home, he still does not try to go on to furniture and will not use a dog bed. He just likes something to chew on every now and some stuffed animals to play with. He likes to swim. He is learning to be better on the leash but could use some training. Roger is heartworm positive but completed two months of Doxycyline in the spring and is on monthly preventatives which should fully treat him. Roger arrived to his Virginia foster on July 9th and had TPLO surgery on July 20th. He has recovered well and has started (slowly) exercising and playing again!
