Austin was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas. He arrived to his Virginia foster on June 17th. Austin came to my home on June 29th. So first thing he is very high energy. After he has run and played a bit he does calm down. He gets along well with my male dog. They are evenly matched in energy so they play well together. He will need obedience training, he has no manners. He can be kinda mouthy but not in a mean way. He just likes to play and gets excited. He walks well with a prong collar, without it he pulls alot. He is a big boy so he can knock down little kids. He has met my grandkids behind a baby gate and he seems okay. I will update more once I know he won't jump up and knock them down. Austin is very sweet. I just don't think he knows how to act in a house, but with training he will be an amazing boy. He is neutered and heartworm negative. Austin update 7-11-22 he is so sweet. He has met my grandkids and has done amazing with them. He can still be kinda jumpy but has made an improvement in last couple weeks. He also met a kitten thru a play pen. He wanted to play but the kitten is tiny compared to him. So with training I think he would be fine with a dog savvy cat. He has learned to go into his crate with a treat. He does great on a leash with a prong collar. Without he will pull and needs training not to pull. We are working on his manners. He has learned sit, down, stay and come. He will be an amazing companion once he is properly trained. Please this boy needs a family that won't give up on him and treat him with love. He will definitely need a strong leader cause he definitely has the shepherd hard headed trait.
