5/1/2020 Callum is very sweet. He is well-behaved in the yard and house. He leaves the chickens alone and does not jump or mouth. I think he will be fine with cats and children. He is so cute, when he gets excited he spins around! or he will grab a toy and trot around. He gets along great with my dogs and doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He travels well, we drove him up to Massachusetts for Easter and he did great. He was a little nervous we were going to leave him at a rest area and wanted to stay in the car. It was very sweet. He got along great with my family and all their dogs too. We live in the country, so he will need some work on leash manners. Sometimes he can get excited and pull and other times he does fine.
----------- Callum is a sweet boy with lots of love to give. He is heartworm positive and on the slow kill method which will require medication for 6 months and a low activity level. He adapts easily and will not be a problem to keep calm. He likes to cuddle and sleep in the bed, car rides, hikes, and a little fetch. He is eager to please and might be cat safe. He likes to jump at my chickens and make them run, but he will stop and can be re-directed. He seems like a youngster, but his teeth have some tarter. He arrived with an amputated tail and has a lot of weight to gain. He is good with other dogs. He can be a little skittish, afraid of walking by fast-moving cars, and afraid to walk through doors. I think this will improve as he feels more secure in his environment. We have only had him for 2 weeks. Callum is tall and has a beautiful trot. He is looking for a calm person who will help him feel secure and let him on the bed. He doesn’t need a lot of exercise, but enjoys going for hikes and romping around the yard with our dogs. He will be a Velcro dog and did not want to stay in a crate downstairs while we were all upstairs sleeping. So, now he sleeps in a crate in our bedroom. He has bent the wires on our crate, but has not escaped yet. He also chewed up some woodwork, but he seems to have worked that out too. He gets upset if you are in the house and he cannot get to you. But he is very well behaved when he has the run of the house and can be with his people. --------- Callum was rescued from a kill shelter in Texas. He did have his tail amputated, so he's the new sleek line German Shepherd. Callum arrived in VA on February 25th More about Callum 2482Good with Dogs, Good with Cats, Good with Kids, Good with Adults, Quiet, Does Good in the Car, Does not require a yard, Plays fetch, Likes to play with toys, Likes to be in your lap, Obedient, Playful, Timid, Affectionate, Eager To Please, Intelligent, Even-tempered, Gentle, Goofy If you are an approved adopter and are interested in this dog, please let your case worker know.
