Meet Caribou! Caribou arrived in MD on March 5th and is currently getting acclimated to her foster home. She is believed to be 4 years old, although she may very possibly be younger. Caribou has tested positive for heartworm and will be treated at SSR's expense. She is also currently being treated for a hookworm infection, which has contributed to her being significantly underweight and malnurished. We are still continuing to get aquainted with this beautiful girl, but thus far she has proved to be an absolute sweetheart! She has done well both in the car and during her bath. She crates well and has decent leash manners. Caribou is fully housetrained and non-destructive in the house. She seems to do well with the resident dogs and has been good with the resident children of the household (ages 11, 13, 15). Caribou is on the low-moderate energy side and is content to lay around the house or at your feet. She will bark on occasion, but is not overly vocal. This girl is a gentle giant, who is even-tempered, affectionate and gentle. If you think that this dog may be the one for you, please complete an application or contact your caseworker. We look forward to meeting you soon!
