Learn more about the German Shepherd Dog.
Evander was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas with Parvo, but he fought his way through that nasty disease like a champ!  He arrived to his foster home on February 11th, and has settled in nicely.  He is a happy little guy who loves to snuggle and give sloppy kisses.  He loves toys and balls.  So far he lacks the puppy destructive gene, which is great!  He is well on his way to being house trained, even waking his foster at 3 AM to take him outside.   Evander responds well to correction, and is learning basic commands like sit, down and stay. He will need additional training as he grows. We are working on crate training. His leash manners are not wonderful yet, but it’s a work in progress. Like a typical puppy, he can be a bit mouthy. He is living with a cat and shows no aggression or pray drive at this time. He also is living with an older female GSD and has done very well with her. He’s a little on the skinny side, and practically inhales his meals. Evander is available for adoption. If you are an approved adopter, please reach out to your case worker if you would like to meet him. He will make someone or some family very happy.
