Royce is looking for his forever home!
Royce is a sweet 2 year old Belgian Malinois. He’s looking for a family that takes leisurely walks and keep him lots of love throughout the day. He is crate trained and house broken but we have been working with him on not marking in the house.
Royce gets along great with cats and kids but is more reserved when it comes to other dogs. Royce would love to have a family with kids that can keep him engaged and work with him on commands and training. He is currently with a foster in Springfield, VA
Summary:
This dog is majestic and gentle. He *NOT* a typical Malinois in temperament or activity. If you've always wanted a Mal but have feared that you can't handle the energy, this guy is for you. Hard to believe he hasn't been adopted already. Contact your Caseworker!
Royce is a ROCKSTAR at the Vet
Royce is sweet. He loves human companionship. He wants to be close at all times and loves to give affection and receive it.
Royce is gentle.
Royce is great with little children.
His gentleness is a true asset in these situation.
Royce is EASY to walk. He is in a martingale collar and responds well to leadership. He does not pull, but occasionally walks in front of you.
Royce is housebroken.
Royce is not touch sensitive.
Royce is not particularly mouthy.
Royce seems fine with other dogs.
Royce is C-A-T friendly
Royce is pretty quiet.
Royce is fine in a crate.
Royce needs basic training which we are beginning to address.
Activity Level: Relatively low. Royce is a snuggler and I don't see that changing even if his activity level increases.
Behaviors we are working on:
Royce sometimes marks as new "territory" becomes available indoors. Zero accidents in the den with fodad.
Royce chews when frustrated--->A
