Sweeney is a somewhat laid back dog, happy for a walk and a play. Wants lots of belly rubs. I believe he has some Great Dane mixed in with GSD. He has some characteristics of a Dane, with being a big lap dog, playing by gently pawing you, he also likes to put your hands in his mouth, which we have been working on by replacing with a toy, and he does not realize his size, so a little clumsy/goofy. He likes to chase his ball, chew his bone and be with his humans. He will be a very loyal and loving companion. He loves kids, although because he does not know his size, he may unknowingly knock down. He is such a great dog and needs a family to love him but also a strong leader to keep his derpy behaviors in check. He will also need an adopter that is willing to keep those things off the counters that he should not have, he does countersurf. Getting better in the car, loves the ride, but gets upset stomach and is good with cats. UPDATE: Sweeney went to Petsmart today and did wonderful with all the people and children, he loved being petted. He was a perfect gentleman. This derpy dog is Sweeney. He has the cutest wrinkles on his forehead. He is 3 years old, very sweet, walks well on a leash and passed his cat test. Poor guy needs to gain about 10 or 15 pounds but that will be easy. Sweeney is HW positive and is currently on Doxy for 30 days and then will continue with heartworm medication monthly. Some dogs are heartworm free in 6 months some take a little longer. Until he is HW-, he will have to take it a little easy, no hard exercise, we just through the ball in the air to him or just a few feet and he is happy with that. Once he is HW-, he would love to run and be able to zoom around!
