Kirby is a handsome, heart worm negative, intact male, estimated to be 6 years of age. This precious boy was found wandering the streets of Lubbock, TX and was picked up by a loving elderly couple and taken to the vet for a checkup and vaccinations before being released to Shenandoah Shepherd Rescue. This gentle boy will melt your heart with his big brown eyes and lots of sweet kisses. Kirby is a shy and patient soul who does very well with children, female and neutered male dogs. He enjoys sunbathing in the Colorado sun and watching rom-coms with his Fo Mom. He loves head pets and follows his Fo Mom wherever she goes. He takes correction very well and shows no food aggression. Kirby is learning how to be a dog from his resident sister dogs, but hasn’t quite figured out how to play with toys yet. He would be a great dog for a first-time GSD owner. After three days of being in our home, he has mastered going up and down the stairs. He is house trained, but marks occasionally, which should be resolved once he is neutered. He does not need to be crated, but we are still working on crate training and learning to walk on a leash. I look forward seeing how he interacts with cats as well as finding this sweet boy his forever home. Adopters, reach out to your caseworkers if you would like his forever home to be yours!
