Astra was rescued from a shelter in North Carolina after her first family surrendered her. She is recovering from a yeast infection that caused hair loss, but her coat is growing back beautifully. Astra has lots of puppy qualities. She’s very goofy and playful, but we’re still learning doggy social cues. Recommending a home without children or with older children as she can play rough. She’s a bit mouthy when excited and likes to throw paws.
I think she would do well with another dog in the house as she has lots of energy and would enjoy a friend to play with and learn from. She’s enjoying her pack time with her two foster sisters.
She’s doing well with basic training as we build up her attention span. She’s a quick learner and would do well with someone who can continue her training. Astra is very smart and needs the mental stimulation.
Astra is shy when meeting new humans and dogs but warms up after awhile. She is initially more comfortable around women but is becoming very comfortable with her foster dad and learning to trust new people.
She’s crate and house trained. She hasn’t shown any signs of aggression or resource guarding. We have not been able to test her with cats. She would be a wonderful addition to any family able to provide her adequate attention.
