10/25/22: Aubrie is being enrolled in an in-home board and train program. We hope to find an adopter for her during this time, before the release of her program so that the adopter can work directly with the trainer before bringing her home! 3-13-22: Aubrie 2268 is the sweetest girl, a true shepherd who is velcro to her humans, has boundless energy, and wants nothing more than love, affection, and play time from the humans she loves. She is her FoMom's favorite foster ever! Aubrie came from a kill shelter in Texas in October 2021, was adopted out in November 2021, and was surrendered back to SSR in March of 2022 because she had an altercation with the resident dog over a toy. Aubrie will need an owner who understands her, and is willing to put in the time and effort needed to provide the boundaries she needs to thrive. As any GSD owner knows, you must be consistent with training throughout a dog's life. Aubrie, like all rescues, will need time to decompress in a new home. She will need to learn that her new owners have the same boundaries and commitment to training as her FoMom, or Aubrie will try to take charge and rule the household. And no one wants that, not even Aubrie! Aubrie loves to ride in the car, and she loves toys and treats. She loves meeting people while on walks, and will go for miles happily. A firm leader who establishes clear boundaries for Aubrie is what she needs. Aubrie needs a household without cats, due to her high prey drive. If you can provide Aubrie the structure and consistency she needs, she will reward you with a lifetime of love, affection, and cuddles.
