Learn more about the Doberman Pinscher. Phoebe 2239 needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping her get a new start?
Phoebe has come a long way. When we first saw her, we thought she could be a hound mix with long ears and hang dog eyes. But her ears actually perk up quite a bit and she looks to be more of a Dobie mix! She is so sweet; she LOVES to get head and butt scratches, and she’ll lean into you, looking for the comfort that she so deserves. She perks up when she hears other people and dogs. We hope to find her forever soon. She rides in the car like a dream, and she allows you to handle her when you need to put her harness and collar on (though she will need some proper leash training!) We do not know if she is compatible with cats or dogs yet, but she is loving and would be good with dog savvy kids. Phoebe was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas. She had been hit by a car and needed immediate medical attention or she would be euthanized. Of course, SSR nation backed us and off to the emergency vet she went. After recovering, she arrived to the Virginia area on September 18th, but due to a lack of fosters, had been put in boarding. Her age was listed at the shelter as a four year old, but she acts closer to one and we have listed her as such. Age with strays is always a guess!
