Meet Dallas - the perfect starter German Shepherd for any family! Our best guess is that he's around 3 years old, and has reached that magic era when the puppy “hyperness” is gone, and he's just a great companion. He is a sociable guy, friendly to people and other dogs, great with kids and a giant snugglebug. His favorite thing is to lay on the couch with his head in your lap and gaze at you adoringly. He walks well on a leash, doesn't pull, and is happy to be your wingman.
Dallas still needs to be neutered (scheduled on Wednesday Sept 22 ) and put on some weight - he was about 65 pounds when we got him and is on his way to a healthy weight - probably around 80-90 pounds. He's doing great and learning how to play - balls and furry, squeaky toys are his favorite. On that note, he will do best in a home without cats. He tends to hyper focus on them and really wants to get them in his mouth. He would enjoy a doggie brother or sister, and has done great getting along with our male and female shepherds.
Dallas is not happy being crated, but has not been destructive at all when left out of the crate. Dallas is being fostered in northern Virginia and will be a wonderful addition to some lucky family!
Dallas was rescued from a kill shelter in Texas.
