Devon was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas. He is dog friendly. He arrived to his Virginia foster on September 4th. Devon is in Va. and doing very well, he is fitting in with my pack very nice.Devon's health is great, he managed to get out of Texas with no disease, all tests negative. We are working on house training and learning to be a family pet, so far he's liking this.Car rides no problem he stayed on the back seat no jumping around or trying to escape. He slept in his crate all night no noise at all! I'm working on dinner times and toys, we have 3 big busy dogs. I think he will do well with other dogs as long as they are not too pushy.Leash training and walking in progress, he will need some training for basic skills.Devon did pass a cat test at the shelter with caution. Kids, not sure yet we will get out this week and meet some. This guy is pretty much a chilled out kinda guy, he follows me everywhere. we have a large yard but he would be fine with a small yard,as long as he got some exercise, he likes to play ball and sniff the yard. He has not tried to jump the fence or test the gates. All he really wants is a place to call home. Reach out to meet him with your caseworker and he will be updated this week on Shenandoah Shepherd community page. I'm not sure of his breed paperwork states St Bernard mix. At this time no small children, he needs some training for jumping up on you and he could knock over little ones.We are working with him, he's still a baby himself.Keep ya updated.
