Dante 2197 has come a long way! She came to us emaciated and her entire body was burned and hairless from hot motor oil poured on her. She has since gained much of her hair back and is a healthy weight. Dante gets along very well with her foster pack - a male and a female GSD. She is dog suave and respects our elder female GSD, but loves to wrestle and annoy her foster brother. She spends time at a doggy daycare and makes friends easily. She is currently being trained and is doing super well with her commands: heel, sit, down, come, place and OFF. She is crate and house trained and has never had an accident in the house or in her crate. She is a young, playful, and rambunctious girl and we don't think she is quite one year old. Dante will play fetch all day long and will destroy any basketball or soccer ball with joy. She is super affectionate and loves to snuggle. She adores our 12 year old human boy and thinks he hung the moon. She is hyper like a puppy but after a good long controlled walk and some training she settles quietly and is content. She would enjoy a family that is active and one that will continue and maintain her training. Dante is healing nicely and we are currently trying to find out what her allergies are that are keeping her from full health and she will likely require a high quality prescription dog food her whole life. She is getting daily baths and dips to help her skin heal and will jump in the tub on her own. Dante is a super sweet and active girl.
Dante was rescued from a shelter in North Carolina. She arrived her Virginia foster on August 14th.
