Calvin was left by his owners tied to a tree in Texas when they moved. The neighbors contacted SSR for help. When he was taken to the vet it was found that he is heartworm positive, has hookworms, had an old leg break of the femur, and also had a bleeding area around his anus (puncture would possibly from a dog bite). He is currently recovering and will come to the Virginia area once he has recovered enough to travel. He has already received surgery for the wound and will be treated for the hookworms. Analysis and prognosis of the leg break will come later. Heartworms will be treated at SSR's expense.
