Duke is all about playing! This guy is into running, playing, catching, dancing, whatever you have activity wise, this guy is in! Duke is one of our handsome younger guys. At just 3 years old, he is ready to find his home and his humans to enjoy life with. Is that you? Duke was pulled from a South Carolina shelter. He ended up there because his previous family did not have time for him. SSR pulled him and is so excited to find him the perfect forever home. Duke is active. No other way to put that. You want a running buddy? Check. Walking partner? Check. Someone to run crazy with in the yard? Check. How about those family adventures on the water or hiking through the woods? Check, check, and more check. Duke wants to live life with you and is happy to go on any family adventure! His list of friends includes humans of all sizes and medium/larger adult dogs. (As always, slow introductions are needed with adult dogs) Unfortunately his prey drive is too high for cats, small dogs, or birds. Duke will happily join the kids in the yard, or just show them his toys in the house. Duke is Crate Trained and knows Sit. Duke is also smart. The downside is his previous family did not do much obedience training with him. A Smart Dog + No Training will always = Mischief. Duke’s family will want to start obedience classes after adoption to ensure a smooth adoption transition. This is not a dog you want going willy-nilly with the house rules! A strong leader will make for an amazing dog with this boy. Some of Duke’s favorite things are chasing his tail, squeaky toys, giving body rubs and kisses to the humans, playing, and his people! He does great in the car and would love to accompany you wherever you go. Going somewhere that isn’t “Duke Friendly?” No worries! Duke does great in the house when his people are gone or can be easily crated. Are you ready to give this sweet boy a forever home? Get those adoption applications in today!
