Update 06/13 - Clementine really wants to be a good girl and has some nice manners already. She answers to Callie (her Texas foster named her before they knew SSR had named her Clementine), and knows "sit," "shake," and "go to your crate." At dinner she got in her crate without being told and did not beg at the table! She let me touch her paws, tail, and look at her teeth. She pulls some on the leash, but mostly redirectable and stopped furniture chewing immediately when told no. She likes chasing tennis balls and chewing on Kongs, LOVES bellyrubs. Should not be with cats or small dogs (she's really trying not to hunt our toy poodle but sometimes can't help it!). Clementine seems to gravitate to women more than men. Activity wise...walked 5 miles and had 2 tennis ball sessions by 10:30am and she was running up and down our stairs like she was bleacher training. Bounces all over the house like a kangaroo and is a total nutball (in a good way, if you have the space for it!). This may just be pent up energy from travel or it may be her personality forever. She probably needs a high fence, she can jump a good 6-8 feet straight in the air. Would be AWESOME at Frisbee. We sent a Wisdom Panel just for fun, if she's adopted before we get it back we'll forward it to her new family.
Clementine comes to us following an all too familiar story. Her family moved away and left her to wander the streets alone. Thankfully, a kind UPS driver noticed her while on his daily rounds. Unable to take her home with him, he fed her and provided water while looking for help to save this sweet girl. Her finder says she is very sweet, friendly and has not shown any kind of aggression. Loves people (including children) and other dogs. She arrived to Virginia on June 12th.
