Eeyore is a big, lovable goof of a German Shepherd currently coming in at around 98lbs. His paperwork originally said around 4 years old but we're thinking he's really between 1 year and 2 years old given his overall good health and energy levels. Overall he’s in good health and already neutered. Eeyore was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas. He arrived to his Virginia foster on April 24th. He is a big people lover and loves to plop into the laps of whoever is nearby. A day can’t go by without a belly rub or a request for one! While he’s a big lover, he very much doesn’t know his size and weight and can plow into people while he’s excited or playing. He very much acts like a puppy in an adult dog’s body. Because if this, he would not do well in a home with small children. Eeyore came to SSR with severe reactivity towards other dogs and after working closely with his foster, he's proven he can get along with other dogs after a slow introduction. You see, Eeyore is a big baby who's afraid of other dogs and needed to build confidence with other dogs and within himself. He gets along with the resident cat but has shown a lot of interest so a cat that isn't skittish/doesn't run much is best so he's not tempted to chase. He will need ongoing training and an experienced owner who can help him be the best dog that’s hidden within him.
