Meet Carter! This 9 month old boy will steal your heart in the blink of an eye. He is such a playful and goofy boy, you would never even realize how far Carter has come with the obstacles in his short life. Carter came to us with no fur as a result of manage. (See some of his earlier photos) His nails were overgrown and you could tell he had never had a warm snuggly place to call home. If you know anything about Shenandoah Shepherd Rescue, you know that just does not work for us. Our motto is “Because Every Dog Deserves A Home” and we want to make that dream come true for Carter. Carter has settled in nicely at his foster’s home and met all the resident creatures. He has decided he likes them all! Humans, big and small, dog, and cats are all fine with Carter. He just loves having somewhere warm and loving to sleep and friends to play with. As Carter feels safer, we are seeing his goofy, puppy side come out more! He comes with all the standard puppy antics and curiosity about the world. Carter loves car rides and actually thinks baths are fun. (I know, unheard of for most shepherds!) He is both potty trained and crate trained. As with all our dogs, he would do wonderfully with some obedience classes and it would be a great way for he and his new family to bond. Carter is heartworm positive, however it is very treatable and Shenandoah Shepherd Rescue will pay for the cost of the treatment. Who is ready for a goofy puppy to live and love life with?
