London was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas. She arrived to her Virginia foster on February 6th. London is a bright and intelligent girl. She is quite petite, a pocket Shepard almost! London has settled into our house and herd nicely. The more comfortable she gets, the more active she is. She is learning to play from our resident young girl, she is figuring out fetch, tug, and the ever popular toy tug and chase. She does kennel, but not graciously. We are working on helping her understand it is a safe and comfortable place, even in the short time we have had her you can see a change in how she does. She does walk, somewhat, on a leash, comes when I call the dogs in, but has no recognition of her name or any other commands. She hasn't asked to go out yet, but she does use the potty pad when she doesn't go out. She has vet notes that state she is a bite risk. In the house I have not seen that, we touch, we cuddle, we hold and have seen no acts of aggression. However. With a trained groomer we saw what the vet was indicating in their notes when we tried to trim nails. She will need someone well versed in handling this type of reaction for her grooming needs. At this time I am not recommending London for families with young children. She plays hard and doesn't seem to know that your hand is also attached to the toy you are tugging and playing with. She plays hard. Over all London is bright and attentive. She is quick and energetic without being hyper. I think she will turn out to be quite a lover, she is showing this already to the men in our household! Watch this space, I will update as we learn more about her.
