Introducing sweet Benny! Benny loves people and can think of nowhere better to be than at your side. Whether it is a quiet neighborhood walk, working from home, couch surfing, or hanging out in the backyard, if it involves his human, sign Benny up! Benny is a rescue from Texas who was hit by a car. SSR worked tirelessly to get him the medical care he needed and back to health. Benny has recovered beautifully, but as a result of the accident, has been left blind. For many dogs, that would be an issue. Not Benny! He didn’t let this slow him down in the least! His resilient spirit continues to amaze us as he navigates this new world. Benny does well with dogs, cats, and older kids. Since he doesn’t have sight, he uses his mouth and paws to meet new people and furry friends. Not all furry friends appreciate this, so as with all our rescues, we recommend doing slow introductions to let everyone safely get acquainted. Benny goes on daily walks with his foster mom and enjoys being outside. Since he doesn’t have sight, he relies on sounds to let him know what is going on. If you are near a busy road, or loud noises, Benny may stop and sit since he doesn’t know if it is safe to continue. With repetition, Benny is starting to learn the neighborhood route and is becoming more confident in his surroundings. Benny is crate trained and loves car rides. We certainly recommend obedience training to help Benny and family learn new skills and succeed in their adoption journey. When his foster was asked about things that would be helpful for Benny, she mentioned that he is fine being home alone, but she usually leaves a TV or radio on for him. Are you looking for a handsome gentleman who gives the best snuggles and kisses? Look no further than Benny! He is being fostered in Lebanon, PA and looks forward to taking your call!
