Antonia was rescued from a rescue partner in Texas. She was pregnant when rescued and arrived to her foster in West Virginia on December 12th. Just in time too, because she started giving birth on December 16th! She will be available for adoption after her puppies are weaned. She is HW+ and will be treated at SSR's expense. Continue to check back in for updates. Antonia has begun to open up more since being with us. We will have a better idea of her personality once the puppies have been separated from her. Currently, we know that she is a super sweet girl. She can be very submissive especially to men. She loves to play with toys, but you cannot leave her unattended with them because she enjoys eating them as well. Antonia hates bath time. This is something that she will need help with. She is terrified of the shower. She does pretty well on the leash, she does pull a little bit, but with more practice she would be awesome on a leash. She is very food driven and she is house trained! She has been staying in a large outdoor kennel in our basement with the puppies. We have not crate tested her yet, but I think she would be fine. She does well with other dogs. She has not been cat tested yet. She seems to be fine with kids, but can be a little uneasy, so older kids or dog savvy kids would probably be best. This is all also based off of her being around her puppies. I'm sure once she is away from them she will become more relaxed and not feel the need to protect them. She is so sweet and loves to sit by you and cuddle. She currently does not get up on our furniture no matter how much I try to convince her. A lowkey environment would probably be best for her.
