Gris arrived in his current foster home on June 24th, 2021. Adopted as a puppy from SSR, Gris was surrendered back to the rescue after he began exhibiting some behavioral issues. His former owners put him through a formal training program, but ultimately decided that it was in Gris' best interest to pursue an owner who is better equip to manage his behavioral concerns. His prior owner reports previous reactive episodes towards people, animals, vehicles, mailboxes and trash cans as well as barking and growling upon meeting unfamiliar people. Gris can be very apprehensive and will require on-going training and proper socialization in order to overcome his fears. The best home for Gris will be one that can offer firm leadership and guidance. He will thrive with a confident handler whom he can trust enough to follow, but can also be firm when needed. At his core, Gris is a very fun-loving, goofy dog but he does require clear structure and boundaries. He resides with two other well-trained GSD's whom he has done well with. He has not done well with the smaller, insecure resident foster dog. Due to his size and behavioral concerns, young children are not recommended at this time. His new adopter should be experienced with the breed and open to training tools. I will continue to work with Gris and address his issues during his time here as my foster. Multiple meet and greets may be required. If you are an approved adopter and have additional questions about Gris, please reach out to 2foster4love@gmail.com and I will be happy to answer them as best I can. Thank you for choosing SSR and best of luck in your journey for finding your furever companion! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Gris, formally SSR Fenrir, was adopted as a puppy and has now been surrendered by their adopter due to changes in the household.
