Updated: 12/20/20 Ruger gets along well with other dogs. He’s done great with the resident GSD Molly and was cat and horse tested prior to coming to Virginia (need to do some more cat testing just to be sure). He likes to give kisses and sometimes jumps up but is easily corrected. He is still learning how to navigate hardwood stairs and isn't a fan of bathtime. He is not used to heeling on a leash (we’re working on it), but he is so obedient when you gently guide or correct him. Ruger loves to lean in and nuzzle for head scratches and hip rubs, and he gives sweet kisses. He doesn’t want you to touch him while he’s eating but when he’s not eating, he’ll allow you to touch him all over. He’s a prince in the car and crate and so far not interested in toys. Ruger is housebroken and not vocal - we haven’t even heard him bark one time yet. He smiles a lot and his tail tells me that he’s a happy boy. If you are an approved adopter and are interested in Ruger, please let your case worker know. If you are not yet an approved adopter but are interested, please complete an adoption application and review the adoption process, www.shenandoahrescue.org/adoption-process. I’m excited to watch this boy blossom!
