Who is looking for a more laid-back kind of girl? Meet Missy! Missy is an adorable 2 year old German Shepherd mix from Texas. Missy came to us underweight, heartworm positive, and with a case of manage. That’s a lot for such a young girl to deal with, but Missy has never missed a beat! Her happy, upbeat personality shines through every day! She continues to put on weight, has almost got this mange thing beat, and started on her HW treatment. It won’t be long until she is as good as new! Missy loves to be with her humans. Whether it is snuggling, giving kisses, or just hanging out, she is up for anything. Missy does great with the resident dog in the house and when passing a cat on her walks, didn’t do more than sniff. She does love to play in the yard and would be happy to have some humans, big or small to play with. (We don’t recommend extra little ones because in her excitement she may knock them over. Also, that tail can go to town swinging away!) Missy has a moderate activity level, so some walks and yard play would tide this girl over all day. Got another dog friend for her to play with? Even better! Missy has been diagnosed with a mild case a hip dysplasia, so she needs a bit of help getting in and out of the car. She never really knew much about this car thing until she came to VA and was fearful of it at first. However, as she has started to settle in, she decided to give it a fair chance. Turns out, the car is a great place for naps and seeing the world! Missy is crate trained, but doesn’t need to be crated. She spends her nights in her bed or sleeping inside the door of her foster parent’s room. She roams the house freely during the day without incident and meets you at the door, tail wagging away. Missy has some obedience training, but would benefit greatly from some obedience classes. Do you have room in our heart for this special girl? Nuts and Bolts: 2 years old, 50lbs, soon-to-be spayed, good with dogs and older kids, no official cat test but did well with passing cats, moderately active, crate trained, house trained, has basic obedience. Missy is being fostered in Scottsville, VA and would love to meet you!
