Learn more about the German Shepherd Dog.
Danielle was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas. When she was found, she was missing one of her rear feet. We have no idea what happened to it but after multiple consults with veterinarians and prosteticians we have decided to proceed with amputation of the remaining part of the leg. She is already adjusting well to living without the foot and we have confidence she will do well as a tripod. She is having surgery on 11/30/2020 and will remain with her foster for at least two weeks to recover. Danielle or Dani as her foster Mom calls her is a very sweet, affectionate girl. She is very quite and calm and enjoys the security of the indoors. She is often found nappy in the laundry room on the cool tile floor or in her crate with the door open. Dani does well on 3-4 stairs to get in and out of the house but has trouble with longer stairs at this time. She has mastered jumping up on the sofa as a tri but is still working on getting in and out of the car. Once she is in the car, she is the perfect lady to tag along for a ride! Dani likes most dogs she has meet, LOVES children and babies and isn't very interested in cats. Her ideal how is one that is laid back and full of belly rubs.
