Are you looking for a couch potato? Well, swipe left 'cause that ain't Margarita, or Rita or RiRi for short. She's the epitome of a shepherd. She thinks that ball is life, thrives on training and structure and is super smart (and a little naughty). She is looking for a leader in her life, a partner, adventure buddy and a best friend. She'll give you 1000% and she is looking for someone that will give the same back to her. Is that you?
Rita is awesome. She's quiet in her crate and will have the most bizarre sleeping positions. She brings the ball right to your feet and sits for the next throw (and it better be a looong one!). Stuffy toys were meant to be deconstructed. She is beyond super smart and picks up what you want her to do right away. She's also a velcro dog so get ready to always have company no matter what you do. She is a champion snuggler and there is nothing better after a good play time than snuggles and kisses on the couch or being a bed hog. She loves pets and kisses and will be very insistent that you give her love. She rides like a champ in the car. She takes treats oh, so gently and has the softest cuddliest fur around. I can't stop kissing her gorgeous face. She will bury her head in your lap for cuddles and ear rubs. And she makes me laugh every day with her goofy face and sweet nature. Of course, Rita will push your buttons a few times to make sure you mean that she really, really can't pull that toy out of the trash. I mean, she worked really hard on it. Typical teenager stuff.
Like all of us, she's working on being her best doggie self. She gets too excited and will jump for the ball out of your hand but just needs to be reminded that good girls sit for a ball throw. She's working on her leash skills, especially when there are distractions around. She's lived with 10 dogs before but forgets to be cool in meeting new dogs and her over the top energy might not make her a favorite with some dogs. We have been working on her leash skills and she has made tremendous progress. We visit Home Depot and pet stores to work on her leash skills and being cool around lots of people, dogs and noise. She honestly can do anything as long as you have a tennis ball around as a reward and is one of the smartest dogs I've ever met.
If you are looking for a dog that will truly be a partner in your life, that will be active with you and where the two of you will grow a deep and meaningful relationship, then she's the one for you. Are you the one for her?
